Sage Butter Turkey Legs

4, skin-on bone-in turkey drumsticks, about 1 lb each
2 tbsp Kosher salt
- Sage Butter
1 stick of butter, room temperature
2 tsp fresh sage, chopped
1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
2 garlic cloves, grated
1 tsp Kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Directions
- Sprinkle the turkey legs evenly with 2 Tbsp of salt. Let them rest at room temperature for at least 1 hour.
- Meanwhile, mix the ingredients for the sage butter and set aside.
- Set the oven to 325°F.
- Generously coat each turkey leg with the sage butter. Gently loosen the skin and spread some butter underneath for extra flavor and moisture.
- Arrange the turkey legs on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. Cover tightly with foil and roast for 1 hour.
- Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 375°F. Continue roasting for 30 minutes.
- Let rest for a few minutes, then serve with your choice of sides.
