Spicy Lamb Meatballs with Tzatziki

Ingredients

  • about 2 tbsp neutral oil, for frying

  • Meatballs
  • 2 lb ground lamb

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 cup panko

  • 1/4 cup cilantro

  • 1/4 cup parsley

  • 6 tbsp harissa

  • 2 tbsp minced garlic

  • 2 tsp fresh ginger

  • 2 tsp coriander

  • 2 tsp cumin

  • 2 tsp kosher salt

  • 2 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp turmeric

  • Tzatziki
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt

  • 1/2 cup grated cucumber

  • 1/2 tbsp harissa

  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 2 garlic cloves, grated

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp chopped dill

Directions

  • In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients for the lamb meatballs and mix well with your hands.
  • Divide the meatballs into 24 even-sized balls, and let sit for 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the tzatziki. In a small bowl, mix all of the ingredients listed and store in the fridge until you are ready to use.
  • Add oil to a pan on medium heat.
  • Pan-fry the meatballs for 10 minutes, rotating as needed to brown all sides.
  • Serve alongside the tzatziki.
