Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 tsp instant or rapid-rise yeast 

  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt 

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water

Directions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, yeast, and kosher salt until well combined.
  • Pour in the water and stir with a wooden or silicone spoon until the dough comes together. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  • Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise for 2 hours.
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  • Once risen, transfer the dough to a floured surface and gently knead to form a loose ball. The dough will be sticky, so add more flour as necessary.
  • Place the dough into a parchment-lined bowl, cover, and let it rest for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, place your Dutch oven in the oven to preheat.
  • After 30 minutes, score the top of the dough with a lame or sharp knife.
  • Carefully transfer the dough (with parchment paper) into the preheated Dutch oven and bake, covered, for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, uncover the Dutch oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes to achieve a golden-brown crust.
  • Allow the bread to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
