1 1/2 lb boneless ribeye, thinly sliced
1/2 yellow onion, sliced
neutral oil
sesame seeds, for garnish
sliced green onion, for garnish
cooked white rice, for serving
- Marinade
1/2 yellow onion, quartered
4 garlic cloves
1/2 inch piece of ginger, roughly chopped
1 Asian pear, peeled, cored, and chopped
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 Tbsp mirin
1 Tbsp sesame oil
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp honey
Directions
- Add the ingredients for the marinade in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth. Place the sliced ribeye along with the sliced onion into a container and pour the marinade over the top. Mix well to ensure everything is evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 Tbsp of neutral oil over medium/high heat. Add the beef, working in batches, and cook 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove the cooked beef and repeat with the remaining batches.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve with rice.
