Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb boneless ribeye, thinly sliced

  • 1/2 yellow onion, sliced

  • neutral oil

  • sesame seeds, for garnish

  • sliced green onion, for garnish

  • cooked white rice, for serving

  • Marinade
  • 1/2 yellow onion, quartered

  • 4 garlic cloves

  • 1/2 inch piece of ginger, roughly chopped

  • 1 Asian pear, peeled, cored, and chopped

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

  • 2 Tbsp mirin

  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil

  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 Tbsp honey

Directions

  • Add the ingredients for the marinade in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth. Place the sliced ribeye along with the sliced onion into a container and pour the marinade over the top. Mix well to ensure everything is evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • In a large skillet, heat 1 Tbsp of neutral oil over medium/high heat. Add the beef, working in batches, and cook 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove the cooked beef and repeat with the remaining batches.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve with rice.
