
Thai Basil Beef Cups

2 tbsp oil
4 garlic cloves, finely minced
2 Thai Chilis, finely minced (plus more for garnish)
1 lb ground beef
1 cup Thai basil leaves
8 butter lettuce leaves
lime, to serve
cilantro, for garnish
- Sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tsp oyster sauce
1/4 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp sugar
Directions
- In a small bowl, mix the ingredients for the sauce and set aside.
- Add 2 tbsp of oil to a pan over medium heat. Add the garlic and Thai chilis and cook for 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef, then break into pieces with a large spoon. Cook for 5 minutes. Pour in the sauce and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Turn off the heat, then stir in the Thai basil.
- Once the basil has wilted, scoop the beef over lettuce leaves. Serve with lime and garnish with sliced Thai chilis and cilantro.
